Hesch Method

My purpose in designing this web site is to have a place to share some ideas regarding the practise of Manual Therapy. Manual Therapy is a Physical Therapy specialty that has advanced competencies in hands-on care, particularly joint and soft tissue mobilization/manipulation. I want to provide a venue to share ideas that are somewhat novel, at times iconoclastic, albeit based on a lot of inquiry, research and a very healthy dose of empiricism. I let the "body speak for itself". We need to challenge traditional ideas in order to facilitate change. Research is important and ideas precede research. I wish to communicate my work and the passion I bring to developing new hands-on therapies, enhancing and clarifying older methods, and nudging new questions, in the spirit of both science and intuition - intuition being that thought process that nudges you, undergirded by prior experience; perhaps a new interpretation or a new synthesis. wisdom is not knowledge, it is synthesis of knowledge. Musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction is not a closed science, it is an evolving science, and more importantly; an art. I am priviledged to swim right in the middle of those bodies of very alive, dynamic waters.
